Celebrating our Christmas Concerts

The entire school community enjoyed our recent Christmas concert series that were held in-person at the school hall once again, after a 2 year absence due to Covid-19. For many parents, this was their first time to ever see their child perform on stage, a precious part of family life and memory creation that should not be underestimated. David Kirby Prize (Duais Daithí K)

Congratulations to Robert Downey who won the Daithí K prize this year. Robert, who is in 2nd class, received his prize from members of the pupils’ council, in the presence of his parents and Múinteoir Daithí on the Monday, 21 June 2021. The prize is presented annually to the pupil of the year as chosen by the all the boys and girls from 1st to 6th class.

Government Advice about Returning to School

The Department of Education has provided the school with a number of animated videos, for distribution to parents and pupils that plan to return to school on Monday, 15 March 2021. Art Prize Winner

A pupil from 6th class, Amelia McEvoy, has won a prize for her artwork in a Banksy-inspired competition sponsored by Edco. 6th class have been displaying great art work completed at home while school has been closed, and posted on their Padlet page. Well done, Amelia.

Our Virtual Classrooms

Teachers are putting up lessons and recommended activities for pupils each day using the Padlet software on our new Collaboration page. We hope to update these daily. There have been difficulties with the amount of traffic on this service. We are aware that some pupils were not able to bring home their textbooks and we will arrange to have the relevant textbook pages up on the each class’s site. Homework Collaboration

As part of the school’s efforts to minimise the impact of the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, which led to the school being closed from Friday, 13 March 2020 to Monday, 30 March 2020, the teachers have collaborated to provide some virtual learning aids.
