School Identity

School Colours

The official colours of Gaelscoil Philib Barún are red and grey, both of which feature in the design of the school crest and uniform, and in all official school correspondence. The red/grey colour scheme was chosen to set the school apart from the colour schemes used by other schools in Tramore.

School Crest

School Crest

The school crest (shown over) features a circular platted pattern (in the school colours) surrounding the word Gaelscoil which contains an image of a seahorse as the ‘s’ in it. The interchanging colours of the pattern symbolize the bi-lingual nature of the school and the seahorse represents Tramore’s seaside location. The crest was designed in 1985 by Deirdre Uí Mhaidín and Dick Murphy.
